Why photos matter
Buyers can't hold your plant, so your photos do the selling. A clear, well-lit photo shows the care you put into growing it.
- Lead with your best shot. The first photo is the cover image buyers see in search results and on the home page.
- Keep it sharp and well lit. True colour and variegation are what collectors pay for.
- Show one plant per listing. Several photos of the same plant beat one photo each of many plants.

Checklist before you list
- Clean the leaves and remove any dead foliage.
- Shoot near a window in soft daylight, ideally between 9 and 11 am.
- One photo is enough to list, but more photos sell better: add close-ups of the leaves, the underside and the roots or node.
- Use a plain background with nothing else in frame.
- Include something for scale, or give the measurements in the description.
- Don't use heavy filters. Buyers expect true colours.
